The Gibson Library - temporarily closed
Founded in 1832 and holding over 40,000 books from the 14th century to the present day, specialist subjects include:
- Local history
- Victorian and Edwardian studies
- Art history and artists
- The art of books
- The English Civil War
The Reading Room is open for quiet study during normal library opening hours, staffed by volunteers at the following times:
- Thursday 2pm to 4pm
- Saturday 10am to 12pm
