Story of the Month – November
To help families develop a love of reading every month we will be sharing a fabulous story video for families to share along with some activity ideas.
This month’s story is from BookTrust and is My Mummies Built a Treehouse by Gareth Peter illustrated by Izzy Evans.
You can borrow more books about creating things from your local library
Why not try one of these activity ideas:
- The child in the story wishes for a treehouse draw what your dream treehouse would look like, what would it have inside it a slide or a sand pit or both?
- Go outside and look at the trees what type of trees can you see, would they be able to have a treehouse in them?
- Use Lego bricks with your friends and see who can make the most imaginative treehouse.
- The child in the story invites their friends to visit and play in the treehouse what games do you play with your friends?
- In the story a stick gets broken, and paint gets spilled accidents can’t be helped but we can do our best to make them better. If you spilt the paint, what would you do or say to make it better?
