Story of the Month – September
To help families develop a love of reading every month we will be sharing a fabulous story video for families to share along with some activity ideas.
This month’s story is from Storyline Online and is I’m not Scare, YOU’RE Scared! By Seth Myers illustrated by Rob Sayegh Jr.
You can borrow other books about feeling scared from your local library
Why not try one of these activity ideas:
- Bear and Rabbit are very different but still best friends, draw a picture of you and your best friend
- Rabbit wants to go on an adventure, but Bear is worried about what might go wrong can you remember what he wanted to bring with him to be extra safe?
- Go on a big adventure around your garden or the park and pretend to cross streams, go through forests, and climb a mountain.
- Using cushions make a big mountain to climb over.
- Bear goes on his own adventure by going on a bus, train, and helicopter. With your friend try and make the noise of a bus, train, or helicopter.
- Bear might have been scared during the story but in the end, he was very brave and saved his friend. Rabbit wasn’t scared of anything, talk about when in the story it is better to be brave or scared.
