This month’s story is from Storyline Online and is My Brother Charlie written by Holly Robinson Peete and Ryan Elizabeth Peete illustrated by Shane W Evans.
You can borrow more books about children with autism at your local library
Why not try one of these activity ideas:
- Draw a picture of your family with all your brothers and sisters.
- Even though Charlie and Callie are twins and like doing things together they are still very different. Do you like doing different things then your brothers and sisters?
- Autism makes Charlie different to Callie, but he can still do loads of things Callie can’t. Think about all the things in the story that Charlie does better then Callie.
- Harriet is their pet dog and does loads of tricks, think about what type of pet you would like to teach tricks to.
- Sing the nursery rhyme ‘Incy Wincy Spider’ together with your brother or sister.
- Counting your blessings is a great way to think about how lucky we are to have people we love around us. How many blessings can you count?
