You can reserve books, audio books, CDs and DVDs free of charge through the library catalogue or the Iguana mobile app.

Search for and reserve a library item

Once you’ve found the item you want to reserve, click on the ‘reserve’ link next to the item.

You’ll be asked to choose a pick-up location. When your item is available to collect, you will receive a notification by email, text, phone or letter depending on the preferred contact method you selected when you registered.

You can cancel your reservation at any time from your account.

If the item you want is not available you can use the request a library item form to:

  • request a book that is not available in any Essex library; we shall then try to locate and request the book from another library authority
  • make article requests
