Reserve a library item

Reserve a library item

You can reserve books, audio books, CDs and DVDs free of charge through the library catalogue

Search for and reserve a library item

Once you’ve found the item you want to reserve, click on the ‘Place Hold' button next to the item.

You’ll be asked to choose a pick-up location. You can cancel you reservation at any time from your account.

If the item you want is not available you can use the request a library item form to:

  • request a book that is not available in any Essex library; we shall then try to locate and request the book from another library authority
  • make article requests
