Tiptree Library Decarbonisation Works
Tue 23/12/2025
Tiptree Library is embracing a greener future!
We’re excited to announce that our eight-week programme of environmentally focused improvements is now complete. These upgrades are part of our wider commitment to reducing carbon emissions and improving energy efficiency.
The project included:
- Installation of solar panels
- Energy-efficient windows and doors
- A refurbished roof
- A modern air handling unit for low-carbon heating
These improvements make the library more comfortable for visitors while significantly reducing its environmental footprint.
What’s next?
- The library is now fully reopened with normal hours from Saturday, 10 January.
- Please note: During the week of 5 January, essential maintenance will take place, and the library will be closed. Baby and Toddler Rhymetime will not run that week.
- The Mobile Library will be on site and reservations placed will be available to pick up on Tuesday, 6 January, 9am–5pm.
- Crafternoons will resume in the new year once full opening hours are restored.
Thank you for your patience and support throughout this process. These changes are part of a broader effort to create greener, more energy-efficient public spaces that benefit both people and the planet.
