Our Digital Offer- Updates

Earlier this year, Essex Library Services reviewed and updated our Digital Library offer. From 1 May, BorrowBox has become our new provider for eBooks, eAudiobooks and ePress, including a wide range of online magazines and newspapers.

With access to the full ePress collection, the number of items you can borrow has increased from 10 to 20 per person (this can be any combination of magazines and newspapers at one time). In addition, you can also borrow up to 10 eBooks and 10 eAudiobooks. All from one library account and in one app.

PressReader will be leaving our Digital Library at the end of June. While the new service is a little different, BorrowBox still offers a wide selection of popular, high-quality titles, so there’s plenty to explore.

Some useful features include:

• Following your favourite titles and getting notifications when new issues are available
• A Text View option, making it easier to read on smaller screens
• The ability to browse by section or jump straight to topics of interest
• Accessibility features, including compatibility with screen readers and options to adjust fonts and layout
• Translation of articles into a range of community languages
• Text-to-speech, allowing you to listen to articles
