
Colchester Library to host Kaleidoscope for LGBT+ History Month!
In celebration of LGBTQ+ History month, Essex Library Service in collaboration with local artists and Outhouse, will be hosting a month-long arts festival at Colchester Library called Kaleidoscope. Running from Wednesday 1 February to Tuesday 28 February, the library will be running LGBTQ+ themed workshops, story times, arts and crafts and author in conversation events.
The festival will launch with a talk from the LGBT+ History month patron, Matt Cain and there will be Storytimes, workshops and talks from key figures in the LGBT community.

Drag Storytime session with An Nemia followed by crafts session. We have curated a booklist and An Nemia will read a story from one of these selected titles. This is a family friendly event for children and parents/carers.

Author in Conversation event/writing workshop with Sarah Hagger-Holt – author of YA titles Proud of Me and Nothing Ever Happens Here This will be open to everyone aged 9+

In this workshop Alice D'Lumiere will share some excerpts of her trans-themed solo performance piece "Speaking Out and Fitting In!" and invite you to experiment with some spoken word performance of your own.
