Harlow Poetry Open 2025

 

Join us as we mark World Poetry Day 2025 with a celebration of Harlow’s writing talent.

 

This year, we've teamed up with Harlow Creates, Harlow Museum, and Harlow Council to present a poetry competition for all ages, for everyone who lives, works, or learns in Harlow.

 

The theme is Home, and can be interpreted however you like! 

 

You may submit up to three poems, to be judged anonymously in three categories: 7 - 10, 11 - 17, and 18+.

 

Submission deadline: March 3rd, 2025

 

There will be a celebration event to announce the winners of the competition at Harlow Library on 22 March 2025. Come back here for more details as we release them!

Poetry Workshops

 

We'll be running some free family workshops for anyone interested in having a go at writing poetry or wanting to improve their writing skills.

 

National Poetry Competition winner Imogen Wade will lead you through a range of fun writing exercises and prompts to help you get some words on the page and perhaps prepare an entry for the competition!
