Blood Pressure Monitors for Loan
Fri 17/10/2025
Borrow a Blood Pressure Monitor from Essex Library Service
Take control of your health with our new scheme, where you can borrow a blood pressure monitor and check your blood pressure at home.
From Monday 8 September, all adult library members will be able to borrow a blood pressure monitor from any of our 74 local libraries or 2 mobile libraries, free of charge, for up to 2 weeks. You don’t need a GP referral to loan a monitor, just a library card!
When you borrow a blood pressure monitor, you’ll get a kit including:
- Instructions on how to take readings and what to do with the results
- A blood pressure diary to record your readings
- Links to online resources, including instructional videos and further guidance
To borrow a blood pressure monitor, ask staff at your local library.
Your feedback is important to us. Once you've borrowed and used your blood pressure monitor, please share your experience with us by completing this quick form.
Or check your blood pressure at one of our libraries
In addition to the blood pressure monitors you can borrow, we also have freestanding machines in some of our libraries. You can use these to check your blood pressure right there in the library!
These machines are available in the following libraries: Basildon, Billericay, Braintree, Brentwood, Canvey, Chelmsford, Clacton, Colchester (from November 2025), Harlow, Loughton, Maldon, Rayleigh, Saffron Walden, Shenfield, and Witham.
Want to take even more control of your health?
We provide help sessions in every library to help you access your NHS account and use the NHS app. Find out more about NHS help sessions.
