Get free access to 1000s of e-magazines, e-comics and newspapers on your PC, tablet or mobile phone, via PressReader or RBdigital; all you need is your library card.

PressReader

PressReader has a wide range of newspapers and magazines from the UK and around the world. This includes many of the UK daily tabloids and broadsheets as well as local publications such as 'Essex Life'. There are also comics, such as The Beano and magazines covering everything from homes and gardens to sports and entertainment.

Simply visit the website on your PC or laptop or install the app to download newspapers or magazines to your smartphone or tablet. Log in with your library card number and then create your own account.

Please note you will need to log out and in every 30 days to revalidate your account.

RBdigital

With RBdigital there are a wide range of popular magazine titles such as Amateur Photographer, BBC Good Food and OK!  There are also over 230 comic and graphic novel titles from Marvel, Disney, IDW and Dark Horse which appeal to all ages, with fantasy, manga, horror, science fiction and superheroes galore!

You will need to create or login to an account on the RBdigital system to download e-magazines and e-comics. This is an additional account to your main Essex Libraries one.

If you’re creating an account you will need to have your Essex libraries card handy as you will be asked for your library number. You can also register for an RBdigital account using the RBdigital app.

Using the RBdigital app

You can download the e-magazines and e-comics app to your phone or tablet so that you can carry on reading magazines and comics you have already checked out on your computer, or you can download direct from the app.
