The Ultimate Self-Care Sunday

Here at Essex Libraries we'd think you should show yourself some love this Sunday and have, what we think is, the ultimate self-care Sunday! Below we’ve listed some ways we’ll be getting into the self-love spirit this Sunday. Because like RuPaul says, "If you can’t love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else!?"

  • Get lit with some literature

The perfect self-care act to do by yourself, whether you want to read about an unrealistic love story (unless you know something about vampires we don’t...) or have an anti-love day and read about an upcoming zombie apocalypse, BorrowBox has plenty of titles to suit any Valentine's self-care day mood!

  • Thinking you’re a Bridgerton but you’re actually a Featherington…

For all those who have become as obsessed with Bridgeton as we all are, Naxos music is the perfect place to submerge yourself into your 18th Century fantasy. Why not spend your self-care Sunday lacing up your stays and drinking tea with your pinky finger sticking out?

  • Become a yogi, and no we’re not talking about the bear!

Being in touch with your physical self is so important as when you’re feeling good on the outside, it helps you feel good on the inside! Active Essex has some amazing free workout videos including yoga basics and helping you to create that me, myself and I zen that Beyoncé wrote whole albums about!

  • Learn a new skill

There is nothing more rewarding than learning something new and finding out that you’re good at it! Now I don’t know about you but I’ve always wanted to be the next Rachel Khoo, dessert maker extraordinaire, and I think this Sunday I’ll be tracking down a Universal Class cooking course to up my very basic banana bread game!

We hope that something here has helped you to make your Sunday special and whatever you're doing, be sure to put yourself first. Don't forget to tweet us your self-care tips @EssexLibraries so we can share the love!
