Sunday 3 October 2021 is Silver Sunday, the national day for older people. We offer many services, activities and resources that would be of interest or benefit to the senior members of the community. On Silver Sunday we’re hosting two drop-in events to give you, friends or family the perfect opportunity to learn more about them.

Come along and find about Reading Friends, our Home Library Service, our Memory library card and Book Groups. These are great for meeting new people, making friends and chatting about the books you’ve enjoyed – or not!

We’ll show you how to access free books, audio books, magazines, newspapers and comics with BorrowBox and PressReader. At the click of a button you can keep up with the news, celebrity gossip and access new or favourite reads. Perfect, if you’re not able to leave your home.

Everyone’s circumstances are different, but there are many ways we can help older people stay connected with others, to feel involved, keep mind and body active and able to access library services.

So, come along to Chelmsford Library, 11am to 12noon or Colchester Library, 2 to 3pm, for a chat or demonstration with library staff. We’d love to see you!
