If you're looking for some fun activities for children as Christmas approaches, Essex Libraries are keeping the excitement levels up and the family entertained with some sparkling events during December.

Have a break from the Christmas shopping and spend some quality time with your little ones at one of our award winning Baby and Toddler Rhymetime. Waltham Abbey, Great Baddow, Frinton, Rochford, Harwich and Colchester are just a few of the libraries presenting Christmas themed rhymes, songs and stories.

Children can let their imaginations go wild by writing a letter to Santa at Braintree, Sible Hedingham, Pitsea, Epping, Dunmow, Harlow, Wickford, Kelvedon, Halstead, Silver End, Coggeshall, Greenstead and Prettygate libraries. They won’t even know they are improving their hand writing skills at the same time!

There are crafts galore where children can make snow scenes, reindeer or Santa bookmarks, cards and tree decorations; they will love to see their own wonderful creations become part of the celebrations – check out the events pages and see what’s happening near you!
