Reading Well for Children is a brand-new book collection from The Reading Agency, with the aim of supporting children with their mental health and wellbeing through the power of books. The collection includes titles for children aged 7 – 11 to read with their family or by themselves.

The books were chosen by a group of health experts together with children and their families. Topics covered include coping with feelings and worries, daily life and getting through a tough time. Evidence shows reading can be valuable in helping support health and wellbeing. Reading Well for Children gives reliable information, advice and support to children, their families and their carers.

You can reserve any of the Reading Well for Children books online, free of charge and collect from the library of your choice. Some of the titles are also available as free e-books.

There are other Reading Well book collections available aimed at adults and young adults free to loan with your Essex library card.
