How was life in lockdown in your community?

How did your community entertain itself during lockdown? Did you bake endless biscuits? Try your hand at that patchwork quilt you’d always been meaning to start? Or spend your time exploring new technologies (“You’re on mute!”)?

Over the last month, many people have lent us things they’ve spent time making, learning or experiencing during lockdown. Now, many libraries are mounting exhibitions of the contributed items - each exhibition unique to the community served by that library. They are: Billericay, Braintree, Brightlingsea, Canvey Island, Chelmsford, Clacton, Coggeshall, Dunmow, Galleywood, Great Parndon, Great Wakering, Greenstead, Hatfield Peverel, Kelvedon, Laindon, Maldon, Saffron Walden, Silver End, South Woodham Ferrers, Tye Green, Wickford and Witham.

These exhibitions will be on show until Monday 14 June. Then, we plan to make a film for our YouTube channel, creating a permanent record of the exhibitions and their contents.
