Get more from your library with the new mobile app!

We are pleased to announce an exciting addition to our library service - the Iguana Library mobile app! This new app will allow you to search the catalogue, reserve and renew items and manage your account wherever you are!  You’ll also be able to view library opening times and location information, linking directly to Google Maps to help you find your way. If you manage an account on behalf of someone else, you will also be able to link accounts and access them both from your phone.

A unique feature of this app is the ISBN barcode scanner. Wherever you’re browsing bookshelves, simply scan the barcode and the app will search the library catalogue for the item. You can then place a reservation* or add the book to your reading list in seconds!

You can also opt in for push notifications and, once the service is operational, you will be able to receive alerts directly to your phone letting you know when a reservation is ready to collect, when a loan is due for return or renewal, and other important library information.

Or go to your device app store and search for ‘Iguana Library’ and download. Once opened, select ‘Essex and Thurrock Libraries’ and sign in using your library card number and password.
