Essex Libraries is hosting a variety of events under the banner of this year’s Fun Palaces weekend. Fun Palaces aim to bring culture to the heart of the community through art and science events delivered by, for and with local people.
There are five Fun Palace events taking place on Saturday 6 October and these are just some of the highlights.
Visit Braintree Library to experience different cultures from around the world. Try speaking a new language, listen to a steel band, design your own Rangoli pattern or make an African mask.
You could become a musical marvel at Earls Colne Library. Have a go at making your own instruments from recycled materials, try reading sheet music and attempt to play a new instrument. Are you a musician – why not come along and share your skills and talent as well?
Saffron Walden Library is encouraging you to explore The Art of Science - The Science of Art, with a drawing workshop. Alternatively join in with their sing-a-long or take in some theatre.
Coggeshall Library invites you to discover your creative side with their activities and at Chelmsford Library take a step back in time with the vintage bike display or sit with your children and enjoy a puppet show.
Visit our events page for information about the range of Fun Palace activities on offer. There’s something for everyone, and it’s all completely free!
