Essex Housing launches consultation for Shenfield Library

Impression of the new Shenfield Library site following redevelopment
16 November 2020

Essex Housing, Essex County Council's housing development team, have launched a public consultation on proposals for the redevelopment of the site of Shenfield Library, which will include a new modern library.

The plans would see the current library – which is in need of ongoing repairs – replaced with a brand new, larger and more flexible library. It would also include the addition of space suitable for commercial and community activity and an enhanced outdoor public area at the front.

The new library would be funded through the modest development of up to ten residential apartments above the ground floor.

Before finalising their designs and submitting a planning application for the new development. Essex Housing are sharing the proposals with you and inviting your feedback.

There is further information, including how to respond, available on the consultation website or alternatively call 020 7592 9562.
