Become a Library Ambassador

Pointing finger in cartoon style
14 August 2019

Are you creative? Want to build your confidence? Want to contribute to your community? Add valuable skills and experience to your CV?

If you answered YES to all of the above and are aged 13 to 18, then you are just who we are looking for. You could volunteer to be one of our Library Ambassadors promoting Essex Library Services for this academic year, 2019/20.

You’ll be much better than us at reaching teenagers to tell them what libraries have to offer - like free Wi-Fi, e-books, homework support and other volunteering opportunities. It won’t take up much of your time, it could be as simple as chatting to your friends.

To help you spread the word we’ll send you five emails over the year with information about the services we’d like you to promote. You can then tell your friends, people at your school and at other activities you take part in. You could also promote them via your social media accounts or come up with other creative ways to tell teenagers about libraries!

If you give us permission we’ll share your name and year group with other Library Ambassadors at your school so you can work together if you want to.

Were you a Library Ambassador last academic year (2018/19)? If you were, then you do not need to reapply if you have informed us you wish to continue.

Apply online now or email us for more information.
