It's 40 years since the Falklands War took place. To commemorate it we've joined together with the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, and Airborne Assault to mount a special exhibition at Colchester Library between 21 May and 31 July. It highlights the crucial role played by the 2nd and 3rd Battalions of the Parachute Regiment, both based at Colchester. Replica medals, kit, maps and other items will be on display.
The exhibition will be launched on 21 May by Chairman of the Council Cllr Edward Johnson, Mayor of Colchester Cllr Robert Davidson and Garrison Commander Lieutenant Colonel Ed Rankin. Local veterans of the Falklands campaign will be in attendance.
It will be great for as many people as possible to see this exhibition. Please come to Colchester Library to take a look. Please speak to staff at the library for more details.
