Test and Trace Privacy Statement

Essex County Council and Southend Borough Council are working together to deliver the local Contact Tracing service as part of the Government's response to the Covid-19 pandemic. We need your help to keep our visitors and staff safe which is why we are asking you to provide us with your information. The provision of your contact details will enable contact tracers to call you, if you have been in close contact with a person who receives a positive Covid-19 test.

Why we need it:

If there is potential that you have come into close contact with an individual who receives a positive Covid-19 test whilst visiting the library, we will need to share your information with Essex County Council and Southend Contact Tracing Service so that they can make you aware and provide you with the necessary advice.

The information we need:

Name and contact number.

How long we hold it:

We will hold it for 21 days and then it will be securely destroyed.

Who we will share it with:

We will only share your information with the Essex County Council and Southend Contact Tracing Service where appropriate.
