Your community, libraries and you

library activities in bubbles coming out of a book
24 March 2018

What does your community need? What role can libraries play? How could you help make it happen?

Come to a free event near you in March to help answer those questions.

Libraries have long been at the heart of communities. But as people’s habits and communities change, so libraries need to change too. Whether you use libraries or not, if you have ideas about your community you are invited to get involved.

We think libraries have great potential as hubs for local people, services and activities and we want to work with our communities and partners to make it happen. We want your ideas, your enthusiasm and your creative thinking so that, together, we can rethink libraries’ place in communities and make them fit for the future, relevant and sustainable.

All events run from 7pm to 9pm and will include a panel conversation and four discussion zones on different themes: community heart, getting involved, innovation and front door to services. If there is no event in your area you are welcome to come to the nearest one.
